REAPERS FEEL EFFECT OF THE N.I.L.F. AND LOSE BIG TO THE GLADIATORS 37-12
Well the Reapers drop another heartbreaker in week two with a little help from a very surprising and good team the Bradenton Gladiators 37-12. Head coach Mike Moore was quoted saying, “Well we expected it to be a tough week. When you lose your starting two QB’s, Center, Right Guard, Nose Tackle, and DT to a New Indoor Football team, in West Palm Beach, and one to injury three days before you play a game, it’s tough. You just don’t have enough time to get these young backups ready mentally with one day of practice for the speed that they will see in a real game.”
The Reaper’s Defense, which was so stout last week against the champs, gave up numerous big plays that hurt them. Although they did put up a heck of a fight which held the Gladiator’s offense to no yards or loss of yards on 4th and 1 on more than one occasion. They also had 2 interceptions, 2-forced fumble, and 2 sacks. But the length of time spent on the field, proved to be too much in the end. Offensively the Reapers were stagnant in trying to get anything going the entire game with Rookie QB Drew Davis getting his first ever start and going 4 of 22 for a mere 53 yards and a touchdown. The ground game wasn’t up to the norm either amassing only 78 total yards on 24 carries. This gave the Reapers a total of 131yds of offense along with 8 turnovers. In my book that spells D.I.S.A.S.T.E.R. and in the tough Division of the AFC East it also spells a L.O.S.S.
The Reapers have started 0-2 for the first time in its short history and look to avoid a 0-3 slide this weekend as they head back to the West Coast to take on the leagues best team, as it stands right now, the St. Pete Sharks. As a fan, I wish you guys the best and I know if you get your minds right and back focused “YOU CAN DO ITTTT!” But as an editor, I’ve got to stay bias and say let’s hope for a good game.
